Press Releases Caldicot Mum's Skydive for Heart FundHeartLine member, Tracy Sobey, says she cannot climb the tower at Caldicot Castle without getting scared. Yet, later this month she will leap from a plane 10,000ft up in order to raise for money for HeartLine. Tracy lives with disabled husband Dave and their sons Owen, 13, and five year old Rhys. Born with a congenital heart defect, little Rhys is currently waiting to undergo lifesaving heart surgery at Bristol Hospital. Worrying about his condition puts a strain on them at times, Tracy admits, which is why she wants to help HeartLine who in turn help families suffering with these same issues. Tracy 35, explained, "HeartLine has been going for many years and they have a forum where parents can talk about their problems. They've two caravans you can hire cheaply to go on holiday and offer a weekend camp for siblings like Owen who just don't understand what their brothers or sisters are going through." "I decided on a sponsored skydive but had to book it quickly though before I changed my mind as I'm terrified of heights." Of Rhys' condition, she said, "He was diagnosed with a murmur as a baby - a growth on his heart which if left alone will eventually cut off the flow of blood to the body. It needs removing or he'll just die but once it's gone everythng should be tickety-boo." "Tracy's skydive takes place in Salisbury on Saturday, August 29 by which time she hopes to have raised £1,000.
