Watch Tracy Sobey's Skydiving video.

Once I had signed my life away, agreed that YES I MIGHT DIE and handed over an obscenely huge wad of cash it was time for my 'briefing'. A very friendly bunch of chaps proceeded to show me how the equipment worked. Great so far. Then another team member came rushing through the door announcing "tandems are go!" and indeed we were. 10 minutes later I was strapped to "Geoff" and sitting in a cramped Cesna about to take off. The flight was lovely and the view breathtaking with an amazing view of Yarmouth and the surrounding coastline.

Once we reached 13000 feet Geoff shuffled me over to the ‘now’ open door of the plane. All the solo jumpers had already dived out and to my horror had left me with one other first time jumper. I sat at the entrance to the plane with my feet bent underneath, my back arched, head back and arms crossed as instructed and “Oh my”, I had just been thrown out of a plane........what an amazing feeling. Hurtling through the clouds the cold is unbelievable. Words cannot describe here how amazing that experience was. Then before you know it ‘BOOMPF’ the parachute was deployed and everything goes quiet and serene. This was at about 5000 feet so we had free fallen about 8000 feet!

The time under the parachute was far too brief but hugely memorable. I got to steer and did spirals in the air which is fun I can tell you....I actually said "WEEEEEEEE!" Then it was time to land, I brought my knees up as instructed and then popped my feet down when told to and ta-dah a perfect stand-up landing!

So there we have it, the single most thrilling, terrifying, awesome and addictive thing I have ever done and I cannot wait to do it again!
