Default Dixogin

Have many of you got children on Dixogin? Have you ever encountered any problems??

I am just a little worried that Lucy's problems were caused by this today.

She had her doseage raised a little nearly 4 weeks ago. She had a blood test 3 weeks ago to check the levels - I have tried to get the results, as has Steve, but to no avail.

She has never, ever, had any of these episodes before, so why now?

The GP was going to get his pulsometer (sp?) today, but couldn't find it. I just wonder whether it might be that her pulse slowed - but then she does have a pacemaker, so surely that would stop that from happening - unless the pacemaker is having a funny five minutes.

Steve is going to ring the hospital in the morning to try to find out: 1. the blood results and 2. whether this may have been the reason behind the episodes.

Will update you when I can.

Bev xx

Emily used to be on digoxin Bev - many, many moons ago, she was little more than a baby. She was taken off it for precisely the reason you describe - her heart rate would slow right down, particularly when she was relaxed.

I'm just catyching up with things here - sorry to read of the troubles yesterday. Hope that Lucy's episode is easily explainable. Is she due a pacemaker check?

Love to you

Hi Bev,

Laszlo was on digoxin briefly after his suergery. He was taken off it because of significant drops in his heart rate when he was very unwell. I know that it is very tricky to get the right level for the patient and even tiny changes in doeage can have a significant difference.

Hope that gives you something useful,

xxx

My boys are on digoxin Bev to slow their pulse rate down - a job it does really well in my kids. But Dr Salmon told us that you have to be careful with digoxin and check the levels very carefully especially when digoxin is combined with other drugs such as carvedilol.

I hope you get the results back soon! As I know that carvedilol can have an effect with digoxin by putting more into the blood stream....!!!! eek

I hope that her 24 hour tape shows the cause of yesterdays episode and better still she has another one today whilst she is at the hospital so that they might sort Lucy out!

Love Sheran xxx
